A Papercut State of Mind

September 8, 2010

Check out these amazing papercuts from Scherenschnitte! I just came across them on Paper Crave—she handcut 50 of them for an art show in Salt Lake City. Each one features a state with its state bird and flower.

Since our wedding theme has sort of become birds and flowers, how amazing would it be to feature the Connecticut one and the Georgia one in the stationery, or on display somewhere?!

And maybe Massachusetts, too, since we met there?

(Source for all three)

Ah, if only I had a money tree.

Have you come up with any crazy-cool ideas, just to scrap them due to budgetary deficits? Or have you found a way to—as my dear Tim Gunn would say—”make it work”?

They’re surprisingly small in real life … It’s a bummer because they’re not cheap! I really just want the images, not the actual expensive papercuts. Sigh.
